About us

Who we are…

We are a group of Christians, and Christians only (Acts 11:26), who imitate Christ and strive to follow the Apostles teachings and doctrine from which we read the church in the first Century (Acts 2:47). Together, we are considered the body of Christ.  For those of us who have been added unto the universal church through baptism into Christ (Acts 2:47), and assemble ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25), we make up the local church.  The church is translated as “the called out”, and we are called by the Gospel of Christ (2 Thessalonians 2:14).

We believe Jesus Christ is the son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). We believe Christ was sent from God the Father in Heaven and has built His church (Matthew 16:18).  We believe the Holy Spirit, is another person of the Godhead, and was sent from Heaven and has guided the Apostles into all truth (John 16:13).  We believe the word of God is complete and the faith has been once and for all delivered (Jude 3).  We believe the Gospel, in which Christ freely gave himself to die on the cross, and that He was buried, and that He was resurrected in three days (1 Corinthians 15: 1-4), and that every man and woman who obeys the Gospel through faithful obedience in baptism will be added into the kingdom of Heaven.

We believe Jesus Christ has come to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10), and every man and woman may reach eternal salvation by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17), believing the word of God (Mark 16:16), repenting of their sins (Acts 3:19), confessing Christ as Lord (Romans 10:9), being baptized into Christ by full submersion into water (Acts 2:38), and living their lives faithfully (Revelation 2:10).  We believe all spiritual blessings are in Christ!

What to expect when you visit…

The bible teaches we must worship God in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). We are provided all instruction in which God desires to be worshipped (2 Timothy 3:16). We follow the pattern of worship from the church in the first century (Acts 2:42), which includes:

The Lords Supper:

On every first day of the week, the church assembles to remember Jesus Christ’s death and sacrifice in which His blood was shed for the sin of mankind. Christians are provided instruction to partake of the unleavened bread which represents His body and the fruit of the vine which represents His blood. While we partake of the Lord’s Supper, we proclaim his death, until he comes again. (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25)

Contribution for the Saints:

On every first day of the week, the church assembles to give a free will offering. This is not grudgingly or out of necessity but as each individual purposed in his heart. The funds collected are used for the scriptural work of the church. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7-8) Visitors are not expected to make a contribution.

Gospel Preaching:

During the worship service, the gospel preacher will preach a portion of God’s word. The Gospel preacher is charged with reproving, rebuking, exhorting with all longsuffering and doctrine. By hearing the sermon, we are edified, encouraged, and uplifted (2 Timothy 4:2).

Congregational Singing

The Holy Bible provides instruction on how God wants his children to offer praise. In praising God, we sing acapella, which is to sing without the aid of mechanical instruments.  We speak to one another, in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19).

Public Prayer

When we assemble as a church, we offer prayer. The church has offered prayers since the beginning of the church in the first century. During the worship assembly, the church makes its request known to God (Acts 2: 42; Philippians 4:6)

What is expected of you when you visit? Nothing at all. We hope you sincerely enjoy worshipping with us, and we hope we can provide an opportunity for you to get to know us more as well!
